Phelios Games are User Kid Friendly

Posted By GameSaint in Games
As big gaming companies release their pride games once or twice a year, who wouldn’t expect Phelios can create more entertaining games than the big one does? I think being an independent game developer helps and user-kid-friendly.

Phelios is an independent video game developer that creates games for MAC and PC.  As more and more games are under their sleeves, I’m waiting and taking that risk in playing Solitaire for mac – considering most games I played in are in PC’s. Nevertheless, I’ll play this mac solitaire game remembering the great days when I have my first desktop.

Not to mention, Phelios keep releasing engaging games which are safe for kids of all ages making them user-kid-friendly (as what I prefer to call them).

Will the big guys create a user-kid-friendly games as what Phelios have done? I’ll be surprise!

Free Commercial PC Games

Posted By GameSaint in Games

Anyone would like to play free PC games? Of course, all of us want those free games – if you like to play the old-school games as well, why not go and play it. And a few newer ones are still available over the years to play with. Check this out!

Games like Richard Garriot's pre-Ultima RPG Akalabeth (1979). Revolution Software's Beneath a Steel Sky (1994). The original Command & Conquer Red Alert (1996). SSI's Dark Sun: Shattered Lands (1993). David Braben and Ian Bell's Elite (1991). Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 2 (1999). Sierra's Tribes 2 (2001). Even S2 Games's just-last-January Savage 2 (2008).

Have a look. There's Abe Lincoln Must Die! (2007), the fourth in the recently released gonzo Sam & Max series -- obviously bait for the other five episodes outstanding, but worth a look just the same.

Remember Bungie's pre-Halo Marathon Trilogy? Yep, all three, available gratis (and the first one's a whole 4.7MB!).

Pick of the litter? Possibly Virgin's SubSpace. It's a simple two-dimensional multiplayer space shooter, easy to learn, challenging to master, and pathologically habit-forming. It was also still being updated, according to Wikipedia, through 2007.

And who could forget Derek Smart's Battlecruiser 3000AD? After the absolutely wretched and bug-riddled 1997 original, the much-revised Millennium version (2003) was surprisingly well-reviewed (by which I mean even the one or two unrepentantly navel-gazing game mags gave it at least one thumb up!).

Sorry if all links are redirected to wiki, it’s a good thing every list is a valuable piece of data.

Assault on Dark Athena

Posted By GameSaint in Games
This is one of my awaited game of 2009. Although I got too much of Fallout 3 - it actually doesn’t matter - Vin Diesel is back and assaulting!

Chances are you’d forgotten all about Vin Diesel. I understand. Either you didn’t see this year’s Babylon AD, in which case he’s gracefully slipped from memory, or you did, in which case you’ve scrubbed him from memory with Bleach and a wire brush.

Still, remember how much fun you had with The Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay? This expansion-pack-turned-sequel boasts updated visuals, a new story, and a suite of multiplayer modes. Here’s hoping Starbreeze has used its extended development time wisely.

This game can be played on 360, PC, PS3 and coming out this spring! Starbreeze Studios you rock!

Shoe the President Online Game

Posted By GameSaint in Games

After the incident when Bush was almost hit by a flying shoe (literally!), gamers’ online created a frenzy game about the incident.

Shoe-wielding Iraqi journalist Muntadar al-Zaidi, who was catapulted to international prominence after throwing his shoes at President Bush during a press conference in Iraq, is now the star of the latest in viral Web games.

"Sock and Awe" -- named after the military doctrine employed in the US operation to remove Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq -- allows players to throw shoes at a figure of President Bush, as he ducks behind a podium.

Al-Zaidi missed both his attempts before being dragged off by Iraqi security forces, but players of "Sock and Awe" have a little more leeway -- you can keep slinging footwear for up to thirty seconds.

At the time of writing, the virtual President Bush has been struck in the face by 21 million shoes, the site indicates.

News of his new-found Web fame is unlikely to come as much comfort to al-Zaidi, who is reportedly facing up to two years in prison for disrespecting a foreign leader. Players of Sock and Awe are unlikely to meet the same fate.

Drakan, The Ancient Gates

Posted By GameSaint in Games
Sequel to the PC game Order of the Flame, Drakan on the PS2 is an action/adventure game where you fight on the ground and in the air, on the back of your dragon. The ground parts play in a style similar to Tomb Raider, a blend of action, exploration and puzzle-solving in a medieval-fantasy setting more reminiscent of RPG’s.

This game actually has some RPG elements, like a quest system or the ability to level up Rynn, the main character, but overall it’s more Legend of Zelda than Final Fantasy, with a bigger emphasis on exploration and combat instead of a complex story or party management.  The flying parts, where you fly mounted on Arokh’s back, on the other hand are obviously more action oriented, with the dragon basically scorching every creature who dares to block his path, making for a nice change of pace that prevents the game from getting too repetitive.
